A new vacancy announcement for a post of Legal Officer at the Traditional Knowledge Division has been published.
The main role of the incumbent is to formulate legal and policy advice to Member States, regional organizations and other stakeholders on issues related to GRs, TK and/or TCEs, and provide secretariat services to the WIPO Intergovernmental Committee on Intellectual Property and Genetic Resources, Traditional Knowledge and Folklore (IGC), assisting in the substantive and administrative facilitation of the negotiations. The incumbent also contributes to the design, organization and implementation of capacity-building and technical assistance activities.
The incumbent works under the supervision of the Director of the Traditional Knowledge Division, and works closely with other WIPO programs and Member States, the United Nations, intergovernmental organizations and other stakeholders, especially indigenous peoples and local communities.
