I P & Corporate Social Responsibility

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a concept whereby organizations consider the interests of society by taking responsibility for the impact of their activities on customers, employees, shareholders, communities and the environment in all aspects of their operations. This obligation is seen to extend beyond the statutory obligation to comply with legislation and sees organizations voluntarily taking further steps to improve the quality of life for employees and their families as well as for the local community and society at large.
NIPO can help businesses shoulder social responsibility as corporate IP owners, which would simultaneously help value maximization for shareholders as well as stakeholders and build brand differentiation through :

1. Public awareness campaigns on why using pirated and counterfeit goods are bad for consumers and the society at large and can even be a hazard to life and property.

2. Educating schoolchildren on why intellectual property is important and should be respected.

3. Advertising the technological measures to combat counterfeiting and piracy introduced in your products through the NIPO website which has a special section “Piracy Check” for this purpose.

4. Making your products such as books, educational software, medicines, computers etc. available at special prices for the economically disadvantaged sections of the society.

5. Capacity building for industry professionals and enforcement agencies on commercialization, compliance and enforcement of IP.

NIPO would be happy to partner you in any of the above activities. In case your organization is already involved in any of the above activities or is having some more suggestions in this area please mail us at .
