“SAMI Labs” is the creation of a visionary scientist. Sheer dint of hard work and the grim determination to acquire knowledge enabled him to acquire his doctorate in Industrial Pharmacy from St. Johns University New York . While still a student, Dr. Majeed garnered valuable experience spread over 15 years, holding responsible research positions in Pfizer inc. Carter Wallace and Paco research. Dr. Majeed developed several interesting products that qualified him for patent rights and national and international awards.20. Mr. Anand Kumar
SAMI received its first US Patent (No. 5,536,506) in 1996, and by the turn of the Century, the number of US patents awarded to the group, has gone up to seven. Another twenty-five European and world patents are in the pipeline.
The company over the last 10 years has won innumerable decorations from national and state governments in India . These awards are numbered around 18. A recent DSIR award for SAMI's contribution in the chemical sector was indeed the crowning glory. It is Dr. Majeed's conviction that commercial growth fully backed by protected patents should be the “watchword” for a strong presence in the international market, particularly with the potential changes of the patents laws. It is with this objective that SAMI's scientists commit themselves to invent molecules and newer application of existing ones that will earn newer global patents for prestigious commercial growth.
The company acknowledges its social obligations like assisting Indian farmers in the adoption and cultivation of useful herbs from around the world, and then processing and extracting these for export to the developed countries. This is the company's modest contribution towards creating better margins for our farmers and at the same time provide value-added products to the world creating in the process direct and indirect employment that will be created for the country's agrarian and urban population.
Mr. Anand Kumar belongs to the Indian Police Service and has held important assignments at the district and national levels. He is presently posted in the civil aviation sector.
